The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) is scheduled to conduct the 2023 National Information and Communications Technology Household Survey (NICTHS) from 05 February to 06 March 2024.

Initiated by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the NICTHS is a key element in the government's agenda, focusing on a dynamic innovative ecosystem, digital government transformation, and improved digital connectivity through Information and Communications Technology (ICT).

Managed by PSA under Republic Act No. 10625, the survey aims to update benchmarks for crucial ICT indicators post-COVID-19, aligning with the vision of sustainable growth in ICT industries and transitioning to a world-class digital economy.

For the survey, PSA-Marinduque PSO will be deploying three Statistical Researchers (SRs) and one Team Supervisor (TS). The survey comprises two parts: Community-level and household-level interviews. The TS will oversee the Community-level Questionnaire to selected barangays, interviewing their officials about ICT access, availability, ownership, and usage/skills of their community. SRs will administer Household Questionnaires for the sample households, asking about household ICT usage and asset availability. Also included is the individual interview, where the SRs will statistically select one eligible respondent from each sample household to answer individual questions about the skills and use of ICT. In addition, questions regarding the PhilSys ID and its usage were integrated into the individual questionnaire.

A total of 25 barangays and 396 sample households will be interviewed across the province.

PSA-Marinduque PSO encourages the participation and cooperation of all sample barangays and households, as their inputs are crucial for providing accurate ICT statistics at both the provincial and national levels.

Pursuant to Section 26 of RA 10625 (Confidentiality of Information) and Section 8 of RA 10173 or the Data Privacy Act (Confidentiality), all data obtained during the survey will be held strictly confidential and will not be used for taxation, investigation, or law enforcement purposes.
