08 November 2024, CALAPAN CITY - Prince Arcel L. Luay, a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering freshman from Palawan State University - Main Campus, ranked first during the 28th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) Regional Championship held on 08 November 2024 at the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Regional Statistical Service Office (RSSO) MIMAROPA Training Room, in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.
The second and third places were completed by Aloja Kate M. Balao, a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering freshman from Occidental Mindoro State College - Labangan Campus, and Fiona Kate Y. Pentinio, a Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Mathematics freshman from Mindoro State University - Calapan City Campus, respectively.
Mr. Luay, together with his coach Professor Lelando H. Gaton, will represent the MIMAROPA Region in the upcoming 28th PSQ National Championships to be held in Metro Manila on 05 December 2024.
The 28th PSQ Regional Championship was organized by the PSA through RSSO MIMAROPA, and the Philippine Statistical Association, Incorporated.
This annual contest envisions appraising the students’ competency and skills in statistics as acquired from the secondary education curriculum. It also aims to assess the proficiency in statistics of college freshmen and to generate public awareness and appreciation on the significance of the field statistics in all development planning activities of the government and private sectors.
