15 JANUARY 2025. ROMBLON, ROMBLON. Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Romblon will conduct the January 2024 Monthly Fisheries Survey. Seven Statistical Researchers (SRs) are now conducting data collections from eligible respondents on January 5-31, 2025 in selected municipalities in the province of Romblon.

The monthly fisheries survey is one of the continuing surveys conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority. The survey aims to generate volume and value of production on commercial and marine municipal fisheries production by species and by quarter at the national, regional, and provincial levels. The statistics generated through the conduct of fisheries surveys serve as input to the compilation of national accounts, estimation of the performance of agriculture, research and studies, policy-making, and program implementation.

Trained statistical researchers uses Computer-Aided Personal Interview (CAPI) during data collections. In commercial fisheries, there were three (3) landing centers being monitored particularly in the municipalities of Ferrol, San Agustin and Romblon, Romblon. Meanwhile, for municipal fisheries, hired SRs will do the data collections in the fourteen (14) landing centers located in the municipalities of Banton, Corcuera, Alcantara, Magdiwang, San Fernando, Romblon, San Agustin, Calatrava, San Andres and Odiongan.

Everyone is encouraged to support the data collection activities and provide accurate data to our authorized SRs. All information collected by the hired SRs from the sample respondents shall be kept strictly confidential and shall not be used for purposes of taxation, investigation or regulation as provided under Article 55 of RA 10625.
