15 January 2025. ODIONGAN, ROMBLON. The Philippine Statistics Authority -Romblon Provincial Statistical Office held Press Conference on the December 2024 Inflation Report on January 15, 2024 at PSA Romblon-District Office, 2/F Kadbayan MPC Building, Brgy. Dapawan, Odiongan, Romblon. Mr. Bobby M. Natal, Statistical Specialist II of PSA Romblon, spearheaded the event, delivering the December 2024 inflation report of the province.

The event was attended by members of the local media and partner agencies that includes Mr. Paul Jaysent F. Fos of Philippine Information Agency- Romblon, Mr. Tony Macalisang of Romblon Sun, Mr. Nicasio F. Fiedacan from Office of the Mayor and Ms. Mary Grace H. Fontelo from DTI Romblon.

The press conference focused on the province's headline inflation rates, highlighting a drop to 0.9 percent in December 2024 from 1.8 percent in November 2024, contrasting sharply with the 8.1 percent inflation rate recorded in December 2023. Moreover, the discussion centered on the main commodity groups affecting price variations and the primary factors influencing the province's inflation rate.

A question-and-answer session concluded the press conference, giving guests and media members an opportunity to interact with SSII Natal, allowing them to raise their insights regarding the inflation of the province and gaining further insights into the inflation report and its implications.
The activity served as a platform for PSA to inform, educate, and empower the community with valuable statistical data and analysis which are necessary for local planners to make informed decisions and implement inflation strategies.

Furthermore, an awarding ceremony was conducted to recognize the invaluable and unwavering support of media partners to PSA during the conduct of monthly Press Conference on Inflation Report for year 2024 in the province of Romblon. Certificates were awarded to outstanding media partners for their contribution to the office’s undertakings.
