30 JANUARY 2025 - ROMBLON, ROMBLON. The Philippine Statistics Authority Romblon Provincial Statistical Office will conduct the 2025 monthly Survey of Retail Prices of Selected Commodities for the Generation of Consumer Price Index (CPI). The survey will take place in two phases: the first phase will be on the 1st to 5th day of the month and the second phase will be on the 15th to 17th day. Additionally, the prices for petroleum products will be collected every Tuesday.

The conduct of this survey is in accordance with Republic Act (RA) No.10625 otherwise known as the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013, which authorizes the PSA to prepare and conduct periodic censuses on various sectors of the economy and Executive Order No. 352 mandating the conduct of the survey every month.

The Retail Price Survey (RPS) collects retail prices and other relevant marketing information at various frequencies at pre-selected major trading centers throughout the province. The term “retail price” refers to the price at which a commodity is sold in small quantities for consumption. It will also generate the CPI that measures the changes in the average retail prices of a fixed basket of goods and services commonly purchased by households relative to a base year.

Six (6) hired Statistical Researchers (SR) will be utilized to visit the sample outlets/establishments in the municipalities of Odiongan, Looc, San Agustin, Romblon and Cajidiocan.

The PSA is committed to deliver relevant and reliable statistics. Hence, the agency encourages the public, especially the sample establishments, to participate in the various censuses and surveys conducted by the PSA.
