14 FEBRUARY 2025 – SAN ANDRES, ROMBLON. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Romblon Provincial Statistical Office successfully conducted an information campaign on Civil Registration and National ID at San Andres National High School, Brgy. Poblacion, San Andres, Romblon. Held on 13 February 2025, the event aimed to educate and assist students with civil registration and National ID matters and part of the 35th Civil Registration Month celebration with a theme “𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵, 𝘈𝘨𝘪𝘭𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦-𝘧𝘪𝘵 𝘊𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘭 𝘙𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘝𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘴 𝘚𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮”.  

In the first discussion, Chief Statistical Specialist Engr. Johnny F. Solis underscored the importance of vital statistics as it constitutes the collection of data on vital events in a lifetime of a person as well as relevant characteristics of those events to the life of the person concerned. CSS Solis also shared useful information regarding the basic concepts of civil registration and the importance of R.A 9255, R.A. 9048 and R.A 10172.

Then, Registration Officer I Engr. Mariel V. Fallarcuna explained the crucial role of the National ID in the government's efforts to improve the delivery of public services, enhance social and financial inclusion, and strengthen security and identity verification. The session aimed to educate and raise awareness regarding the importance and use of the National ID, which will support student’s access to essential government services and strengthen their readiness for professional opportunities.

Following the discussions, PSA Romblon hosted the game "PSA Says," which is PSA's take on Family Feud that featured Civil Registration and National ID trivias. At the end, Team Aya emerged victorious, while Team Ma, Anong Ulam came in second.

The annual observance of CRM is pursuant to Proclamation No. 682 “Declaring the Month of February of Every Year as Civil Registration Month” issued by then President Corazon C. Aquino dated January 28, 1991.
