8 April 2025 - ROMBLON, ROMBLON. The Philippine Statistics Authority Romblon Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) conducted the Livestock and Poultry Survey : Establishment (LPS:E), formerly Commercial Livestock and Poultry Survey, for the first quarter 2025 operations. The LPS:E is conducted quarterly in all provinces, including the National Capital Region (NCR). Moreover, the commodity coverage includes carabao, cattle, swine, goat, sheep, chicken, duck, and other animals tended/raised by the establishments.
The data generated from this survey are disseminated through quarterly bulletin, annual situation reports, infographics, and publication. More importantly, the production data generated from the survey are inputs to the Value of Production of Agriculture and accordingly to the computation of Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
The data collection is undertaken by trained hired Statistical Researchers (SRs) through face-to-face using Computer Aided Personal Interviewing (CAPI) on March 29-31, 2025, after which the data is uploaded for machine processing using the Agriculture and Fisheries Data Processing System (DPS).
For this survey round, Romblon has a total of 20 sample establishments distributed in the municipalities of Odiongan, San Agustin, Magdiwang, Santa Fe, and San Andres.
With proper distribution and deployment of Statistical Researchers (SRs) in each sample establishment within the province, LPS:E survey operations ran smoothly as scheduled. Moreover, field supervision was also conducted to ensure that operational procedures were strictly followed. The office also assures that all collected personal information is processed in accordance with the law and other issuances.
