11 June 2025 – PINAMALAYAN, ORIENTAL MINDORO - The Philippine Statistics Authority Oriental Mindoro will conduct the Consumer Expectations Survey (CES) for the third quarter of 2025 this July. While the conduct of CES is a joint undertaking between the PSA and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), PSA holds primary responsibility and authority of collecting the survey data.

Conducted on a quarterly basis, the CES aims to capture the consumers’ viewpoints in their family income, financial situation, and the economic condition of the country. These shall serve as the basis for BSP to generate forecasts in the direction of the economy for the current quarter, next quarter, and the next 12 months. Additionally, the results of CES will guide policymakers to project the trend in the change of behavior of key indicators, including the inflation rate, interest rate, and exchange rates.

The Province of Oriental Mindoro had a total sample of about 48 households located in the city of Calapan and municipalities of Baco, Bongabong, Roxas, and Bansud, which were scientifically selected through a stratified multi-stage random sampling method. Two statistical researchers were involved in the data collection from 01 to 12 July 2025. A total of five days each were allotted for the Chief Administrative Officer, Officer-in-Charge, Provincial Focal Person, and Alternate Provincial Focal Person to supervise interviews in sample households.

The PSA is committed to deliver relevant and reliable statistics. Hence, the agency encourages the public, especially the sample households, to participate in the various censuses and surveys conducted by the PSA. The agency also assures that all collected personal information is processed in accordance with the law and other issuances.
