13 JUNE 2025 – DUYAY, BOAC, MARINDUQUE. On 13 June 2025, the PSA Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office (PSO), in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Boac, successfully awarded Certificates of Live Birth in Security Paper (SECPA) to beneficiaries of the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP). The activity was held at the covered court of Barangay Duyay, Boac, Marinduque, in conjunction with an Information Dissemination and National ID Registration event for senior citizens.
Prior to the awarding of birth certificates, the PSA team conducted informative sessions on civil registration and the National Identification System (National ID). National ID personnel RKO Neil Aldrin Pelaez discussed the importance of the National ID, while BRC Shiela Mae Matining shared updates on the implementation of BRAP in Boac, including its processes and eligibility requirements.
During the event, three beneficiaries, including senior citizens, received their Certificates of Live Birth in SECPA copy through BRAP. The team also distributed paper-based National ID cards to senior citizens residing in the barangay. In addition, some residents were able to register in the National ID during the on-site mobile registration. Names of potential BRAP beneficiaries were also recorded for further verification and registration.
Started in 2022, one of the major programs of the PSA is the implementation of the Birth Registration Assistance Project in the country to ensure that all births of Filipinos are registered in the Local Civil Registry Offices and that they will be enrolled with the National dentification System.
