Magsaysay, Santa Fe, Romblon on June 20, 2025, an activity initiated by the Local Government of Santa Fe led by the Local Civil Registry Office.

The 23 couples during the 2025 Kasalang Bayan initiated by LGU Santa Fe, Romblon

Hon. Elsie D. Visca officiated the wedding ceremony of the couples, assisted by Pastor Gina Rufon-Isagan. The Kasalang Bayan is a continuing program that aims to support couples who have long wished to legalize their union but have been hindered by financial constraints. The program provides free marriage licenses, certificates, and officiating services, ensuring every couple’s union is legally recognized.

“Marriage is not only a celebration of love and commitment, it is also the foundation for strong families and stronger communities. Today, we not only witness love being affirmed, but also uphold every couple’s right to be recognized under the law”, Mayor Visca shared during her message.

Ms. Maria Cristina M. Uy, Registration Officer II of PSA Romblon, expressed her support for the initiative, commending the LGU’s dedication to both legal documentation and the social welfare of its constituents. She emphasized that civil registration, including marriage, is vital to accessing various rights and services from the government.

The ceremony was followed by a simple yet joyful reception where the newlyweds celebrated with their families and fellow couples. Smiles, laughter, and tears of joy filled the venue as each couple received their marriage certificates and tokens from the LGU.

Mayor Elsie Visca, MCR Jacqueline B. Mayor, and RO II Maria Cristina M. Uy delivered their respective messages to the couples during the mass wedding ceremony

This year’s Kasalang Bayan highlights the local government’s ongoing commitment to inclusivity and family-centered governance—helping every citizen take meaningful steps toward building a better, more secure future.
