25 June 2025, SANTA FE, ROMBLON. In another significant step towards strengthening civil registration and providing essential legal documents to underserved communities, 56 beneficiaries of the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP) in Santa Fe, Romblon were awarded their birth certificates in Security Paper (SECPA) in a simple ceremony on June 20, 2025 at the 2/F Training Center, Municipal Building, Brgy. Poblacion, Santa Fe, Romblon.

The awarding ceremony was graced by Hon. Elsie D. Visca, Municipal Mayor of Sta. Fe, Romblon and Ms. Jacqueline B. Mayor, Municipal Civil Registrar. PSA Romblon was represented by Ms. Maria Cristina M. Uy, Registration Officer II, and BRC Gwendolyn S. Fajanilan.
In her message, Mayor Visca emphasized the importance of birth registration as a fundamental human right and a vital step toward accessing government services, education, and social protection. “This event marks not only the issuance of documents but the recognition of every individual’s identity and rights,” she said.
Ms. Jacqueline B. Mayor, Municipal Civil Registrar, also shared assurance that the local government of Sta. Fe is committed to ensuring that every resident is registered. Meanwhile, RO II Maria Cristina M. Uy reaffirmed the agency’s dedication to reaching unregistered Filipinos across the country.

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the initiative, noting how having their birth certificates will open new opportunities for education, employment, and government assistance.
The BRAP initiative, in partnership with local government units, PSA aims to ensure that marginalized individuals, particularly those in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas are provided with official documentation of their birth, allowing them to participate fully in civil and public life. This event stands as a testament to the ongoing collaboration between the PSA and LGUs to ensure that no one is left behind in the pursuit of a well-documented and inclusive Filipino society.
