Reference Number: PR-2024-041

25 March 2024. ROMBLON, ROMBLON. As per the Republic Act 11055 series of 2018, otherwise known as Philippine Identification System Act, the Philippine Statistics Authority- Romblon Provincial Statistical Office started the registration period for children aged 0-4 years last February 14, 2024 in the province of Romblon.

As part of the registration process, the parents or guardians of the child must be PhilSys registered with a PhilSys Card Number (PCN). This is for linking the child's data to that of the parents or legal guardian.

The only documents required for registering with PhilSys if the child is younger than five years old is the PSA/LCR Birth Certificate, along with the guardian's presence and PhilID/ePhilID card.

In cases where the parent is absent or underage, a guardian may accompany the child, provided they present additional documentation such as an authorization letter from the parent, valid identification of the parent, and the child's identification papers.

In addition, the guardian must provide the child's identity documents and the parents' death certificates if the child's parents have passed away.

The Philippine Identification System Act, or Republic Act 11055, was signed into law in August 2018. It aims to establish a single national ID for all Filipinos and resident aliens, providing valid proof of identity for Filipino citizens and resident aliens of the Philippines.
