28 MAY 2025 –MOGPOG, MARINDUQUE. Continuing its mission to reach underserved sectors of the population, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office (PSO), in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), brought National ID registration services directly to senior citizens during the pension payout in Barangay Gitnang Bayan, Mogpog on 28 May 2025.

Building on its success, this initiative was earlier deployed on 27 May 2025, in the barangays of Guisian, Sayao, Bocboc, and Banto. These outreach efforts targeted geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas, giving more senior citizens the opportunity to secure their National IDs without having to travel long distances to the registration centers.

This initiative, anchored on the principles of inclusivity and accessibility, enabled elderly beneficiaries to conveniently register for the National ID while receiving their social pension assistance. By integrating National ID registration with scheduled DSWD activities, the PSA ensures that the registration process becomes less burdensome for seniors, particularly those residing in remote areas.

The National ID serves as a crucial tool in streamlining access to a variety of government programs and social services. For senior citizens, it simplifies procedures for claiming pensions, availing of healthcare benefits, and accessing other government assistance programs—thereby ensuring that they are not excluded from essential support due to lack of proper identification.

As a result of this targeted outreach in Mogpog, a total of 90 senior citizens were successfully registered, and 51 were issued their National IDs in paper format. These accomplishments form part of the broader efforts of the agency to expand the reach of the National ID program across the province.

PSA PSO Marinduque continues to strengthen its partnerships with agencies like the DSWD and local government units to guarantee that every Marinduqueño, regardless of location or age, has access to a secure and verifiable identity.
