2024 Community-Based Monitoring System Preparations Kick-Off With Meeting of the Municipal CBMS Coordinating Boards at the Six Municipalities of Marinduque

The Six Municipalities of Marinduque embark on the journey to an even more data-driven governance with the upcoming 2024 nationwide rollout of the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS). Municipalities of Boac, Buenavista, Gasan, Mogpog, Santa Cruz, and Torrijos has started convening the Municipal CBMS Coordinating Board (MCCB) which marks the start of the preparations for the rollout. First to convene the MCCB is the Municipality of Buenavista on January 24, 2024 followed by Municipality of Mogpog on January 25, 2024, Municipalities of Gasan and Boac on January 26, 2024 and Municipalities of Santa Cruz and Torrijos on January 30, 2024.

One of the goals of the 2024 CBMS is to update the social registries of national government agencies, particularly the Department of Social Welfare and Development. Aside from collecting data, the CBMS is intended to capture several factors that can be used for multi-dimensional poverty analysis, policy formulation, poverty alleviation, and economic development in cities and municipalities nationwide .
