PSA Oriental Mindoro Convenes the City/Municipal CBMS Coordinating Boards for the 2024 Rollout of Community-Based Monitoring System

 

 

The Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) of Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Oriental Mindoro, under the leadership of Supervising Statistical Specialist, Officer-in-Charge Donna Marie D. Mobe successfully convened all the City/Municipal CBMS Coordinating Boards (C/MCCB) for the 2024 roll-out of the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) in the province.

The collaborative efforts of PSA Oriental Mindoro PSO personnel – headed by the CBMS Provincial Focal Person, Senior Statistical Specialist Herchie T. Davalos, together with Statistical Specialist II Jeile G. Ornedo, Statistical Specialist II Maria Clarisse Quitain, Statistical Specialist II/Alternate CBMS Focal Person Mary Joy H. Dudas, Statistical Analyst Daniel A. Paquit, Statistical Analyst Jorynne Mae P. De Mesa, and Information Analyst I Shiela Jane Dudas made the achievement of this coordination in December 2023 and January 2024.

Each C/MCCB is composed of the City/Municipal Mayor or Designated Representative as the Chairperson, PSA PSO Representative SrSS Herchie T. Davalos as the Co-Chairperson, Local Government Unit’s (LGU) CBMS Focal Person or the City/Municipal Statistician as the Secretary, and Heads of Designated Representatives of various offices within the city/municipal LGU as members.

The 2024 CBMS is a nationwide undertaking that requires cooperation of all government entities to ensure smooth flow of operations at all geographic and administrative levels. The convening of the C/MCCBs plays a vital role in assessing the parameters of conducting the overall CBMS activities as members of the coordinating boards shall be responsible for overseeing the CBMS operations in their respective localities, ensuring logistical and other requirements are in place, and resolving issues and concerns encountered within their jurisdiction.

The commitment shown by all the LGUs in Oriental Mindoro was evident in the outcome of the convening as their full support and cooperation, recognition and dedication to gather accurate, timely, relevant, and reliable data were given to PSA during meetings. This activity likewise showed each LGU’s commitment to good governance, enhanced transparency, and the advancement of all communities particularly Indigenous People (IPs) communities within the province.
