06 OCTOBER 2024 – MARINDUQUE PROVINCIAL STATISTICAL  OFFICE. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Marinduque Provincial  Statistical Office (PSO)  successfully  conducted  the  Third Quarter 2024 Livestock and Poultry Surveys (Backyard and Commercial), from 26 September 2024, to 06 October 2024.

BLPS and CLPS are two of the major agricultural surveys conducted by  PSA. The data gathered in this survey are as follows: type of operation,  inventory, born live/hatched live, acquired, sold live for slaughter and for  other purposes, slaughtered/dressed in the household/establishments, number of deaths, average liveweight, average farmgate price, egg  production indicator for poultry, and milk production for carabao, cattle and  goat. These survey aims to generate estimates on the inventory, number of  animals disposed, average farmgate price, egg production of poultry  animals, milk production of dairy animals and other related data. More importantly, the production data generated from the survey are direct inputs to the valuation of production in Philippine agriculture and fisheries, and accordingly to the computation of Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

PSA Marinduque hired three Statistical Researchers (SRs) to conduct  personal interviews with 240 sample households from selected barangays  across the province, including Duyay, Puyog, Tabigue, and Tugos in Boac;  Bagtingon, and Libas in Buenavista; Balanacan, Laon, and Nangka II in  Mogpog; Kaganhao, Landy, and Matalaba in Santa Cruz for the  Backyard  Livestock and Poultry Survey (BLPS); and nine sample establishments from  selected barangays across the province located in Boton and Tugos in  Boac, Tabionan and Libtangin in Gasan, Caigangan in Buenavista, Balanacan in Mogpog, and Pantayin in Santa Cruz for the Commercial  Livestock and Poultry Survey (CLPS).

In this regard, the sample households are encouraged to participate in this  nationwide undertaking by providing the necessary and accurate  information.

According to Section 19 of Republic Act No. 10173, the “Data Privacy Act of  2012,” all collected information will be kept confidential. Section 26 of RA  No. 10625 states that individual data provided to the PSA for statistical  inquiries is privileged communication and inadmissible as evidence in any proceeding.
