WHEREAS, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) shall prepare and conduct periodic censuses on population, housing, agriculture, fisheries, business, industry and other sectors of the economy pursuant to Section 6 of Republic Act No. 10625, s. 2013; 

WHEREAS, Executive Order No. 352, s. 1996 designates the regular conduct of the Census of Philippine Business and Industry (CPBI) every five years;

WHEREAS, the CPBI collects data from formal sector of the economy to track performance and inform policy decisions that promote economic growth;

WHEREAS, the 2023 CPBI is envisioned to achieve the following objectives: (a) collect and generate information on employment, revenue, expense, capital expenditures and total assets of the establishments by industry and by region; (b) generate indicators such as value added, labor productivity, profitability and other indicators which are necessary for the evaluation of the performance of industries at the national and regional levels; (c) generate information on MSMEs (micro, small, and medium establishments/enterprises); (d) generate gender disaggregated
statistics on employment; (e) generate statistics on research and development (R&D) expenditures of establishments; and (f) update basic information of establishments and enterprise for the improvement of the Statistical Business Register (SBR);

WHEREAS, the PSA will conduct the enumeration of the 2023 CPBI from 03 April until 31 April 2024;

NOW, THEREFORE, ON A MOTION DULY SECONDED, be it

RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, That RSC MIMAROPA supports the conduct of the 2023 Census of Philippine Business and Industry.

RESOLVED FINALLY, That copies of this resolution be provided to all RSC members;

UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED.
