were also identified for verification in the PSA database.
On the other hand, another civil registration services was held in Barangay Maligaya, Boac,
on January 26, 2024. Boac LCRO employee Leody Marie Mercado also provided advise to
those who were having problems with their records, such as inaccurate birth certificate entries.
Launched in February 2022, BRAP allows the late registration of the birth records of
individuals belonging to marginalized communities, Indigenous People, Muslim Filipinos, the
poorest sector of the country, senior citizens, and those who are currently living outside of
their birthplaces. This is a significant milestone which the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)
prioritize to ensure that all births of Filipinos are registered in the Local Civil Registry Offices
(LCROs) and that they will be enrolled to the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).
