18 FEBRUARY 2025 – ROMBLON, ROMBLON. The Local Government of Odiongan, through the initiative of Local Civil Registry Office headed by its Municipal Civil Registar, Engr. Jonathan C. Firmalo, spearheaded a Kasalang Barangay on 20 February 2025 at the Odiongan Covered Court, Odiongan, Romblon. The event was braced by the LGU Officials, couples, family and relatives.

A total of thirty-two (32) couples exchanged vows in front the municipal Mayor, Hon. Trina Alejandra Q. Firmalo-Fabic, who officiated the mass wedding ceremony.

Thirty-two couples tied the knot in the Kalasang Bayan held in Odiongan, Romblon.

Mr. Bobby M. Natal, Statistical Specialist II of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Romblon Provincial Statistical Office, served as one of the witnesses of the Kasalang Bayan. The participation was in line with the celebration of the 35th Civil Registration Month with a theme “𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵, 𝘈𝘨𝘪𝘭𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦-𝘧𝘪𝘵 𝘊𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘭 𝘙𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘝𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘴 𝘚𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮”.

In his message, Mr. Natal emphasized that family is the foundation in the development of society wherein marriage is the legal union of a man and a woman and shared the benefit of children born out of wedlock be legitimized by the subsequent marriage of their parents.

The PSA Romblon is committed to support all endeavors spearheaded by the Local Civil Registry Offices to continuously reach the goal of full registration in the province.

The annual observance of CRM is pursuant to Proclamation No. 682 “Declaring the Month of February of Every Year as Civil Registration Month” issued by then President Corazon C. Aquino dated January 28, 1991.
