The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) is currently conducting the January 2024 round of the Consumer Expectations Survey (CES), from 19 to 31 January 2024. The CES is a joint undertaking between the PSA and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) where PSA has the primary responsibility of collecting the data.
The CES aims to gather information on consumer attitudes and expectations regarding household income, financial situation, and the economic condition of the country. The results of the CES will be used to provide valuable insights into the current economic conditions and consumer sentiment, as well as to inform the central bank's monetary policy decisions.
Three Statistical Researchers (SRs) have been hired by PSA-Marinduque PSO to conduct personal interviews with the 96 sample households from the selected six barangays of the selected four municipalities of the province, which includes Pili in Mogpog, Agumaymayan and Lupac in Boac, Bolo and Nangka in Torrijos, and Lapu-lapu in Santa Cruz. The Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) method on tablets will be used.
PSA-Marinduque PSO encourages all sample households to participate and cooperate with this undertaking, as their inputs are crucial in providing a more accurate picture of consumer expectations in the province and the country.
Pursuant to Section 26 of RA 10625 (Confidentiality of Information) and Section 8 of RA 10173 or the Data Privacy Act (Confidentiality), all data obtained during the survey will be held strictly confidential and will not be used for taxation, investigation, or law enforcement purposes.
