Volume of Livestock Production
In 2024, the total volume of livestock production in Palawan was estimated at 61,492.71 metric tons, liveweight. It posted an increase of 4.30 percent from the 58,956.48 metric tons, liveweight production in 2023. By animal type, production from hog and cattle increased, while production from goat and carabao decreased.
Production by Animal Type
The 2024 hog production in the province was estimated at 53,694.05 metric tons, liveweight. This was 6.31 percent higher (3,187.20 metric tons) than the 2023 output of 50,506.85 metric tons, liveweight. This animal type contributed 87.3 percent share to the total livestock production of the province.
Cattle production in 2024 was estimated at 4,964.83 metric tons, liveweight. This was 3.0 percent higher (144.63 metric tons) than the 2023 output of 4,820.20 metric tons, liveweight. This animal type contributed 8.1 percent share to the total livestock production of the province.
Carabao production was estimated at 1,706.48 metric tons, liveweight in 2024. This was 23.0 percent lower (509.58 metric tons) than the 2023 output of 2,216.06 metric tons, liveweight. This animal type contributed 2.8 percent share to the total livestock production of the province.
The 2024 goat production was estimated at 1,127.36 metric tons, liveweight. This was 20.24 percent lower (286.03 metric tons) than the 2023 output of 1,413.38 metric tons, liveweight. This animal type contributed 1.8 percent share to the total livestock production of the province.
Volume of Poultry Production
The total volume of poultry production in Palawan was estimated at 6,929.33 metric tons in 2024. It posted an increase of 21.1 percent or about 1,208.81 metric tons from the 5,720.52 metric tons production in 2023. This was brought about by increased chicken production which had 96.6 percent share of the total poultry production in the province.
Volume of Eggs Production
In 2024, the total volume of egg production in Palawan was estimated at 3,253.22 metric tons. It posted a decrease of 22.46 percent (942.30 metric tons) from the 4,195.52 metric tons production in 2023. This was brought about by the decrease in chicken egg production which had 90.81 percent share of the total egg production in the province.
