Volume of Production - Palay 

During the year 2023, palay production in Palawan improved by 6.6 percent compared to the reported production in the year 2022. This year, the total volume of production was estimated at 461,925.40 metric tons, marking an increase of about 28,529.94 metric tons from the 2022 production of 433,395.46 metric tons.


Of the total palay production in the province for the year 2023, about 61.8 percent of the output came from irrigated areas. The remaining 38.2 percent was produced from rainfed areas.
 


Volume of Production - Corn

The corn production in Palawan for the year 2023 was recorded at 18,968.52 metric tons. This reported value declined by 2.6 percent compared to the 19,470.91 metric tons harvested corn in 2022.

 


Yellow corn production contributed 76.0 percent to the total corn output of the province during the reference period. The remaining 24.0 percent comprised the production for white corn.

Area Harvested of Palay Production 

The total area harvested of palay in the province during the year 2023 was recorded at 117,460.00 hectares which was an increase of 5.7 percent (6,342.00 hectares) than the 2022 reported area of 111,118.00 hectares. 

 


Palay production from irrigated areas contributed 57.1 percent to the total area harvested of the province. The remaining 42.9 percent of palay production came from rainfed areas.

Area Harvested of Corn Production 

The total corn area harvested in the province during the year 2023 was recorded at 6,078.00 hectares, recording a decline of 1.9 percent (119.88 hectares) compared to the previous year, which had an area of 6,197.88 hectares.
 


 


Yellow corn production contributed 68.0 percent to the total corn output of the province. The remaining 32.0 percent comprised the production for white corn.
