07 April 2025 - CALAPAN CITY, ORIENTAL MINDORO. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Oriental Mindoro conducted the Consumer Expectations Survey (CES) for the Second Quarter of 2025 this April. While the conduct of CES is a joint undertaking between the PSA and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), PSA has the primary responsibility and authority of collecting the data for the survey.

Conducted on a quarterly basis, the CES aims to capture the consumers’ viewpoints in their family income, financial situation, and the economic condition of the country. These shall serve as basis for BSP to generate forecasts in the direction of the economy for the current quarter, next quarter, and the next 12 months. Additionally, the results of CES will guide the policy makers to project the trend in the change of behavior of key indicators including inflation rate, interest rate, and exchange rates.

The Province of Oriental Mindoro had a total sample of about 48 households located in the city of Calapan and municipalities of Puerto Galera, Victoria, Bansud, and Pinamalayan, which were scientifically selected through a stratified multi-stage random sampling method. Two (2) statistical researchers (SRs) were involved in the data collection from 02 to 15 April 2025 and five (5) days each were allotted for the Chief Administrative Officer, Officer-in-Charge, Provincial Focal Person (PFP), and Alternate Provincial Focal Person (APFP) to supervise interviews in sample households.

The PSA is committed to deliver relevant and reliable statistics. Hence, the agency encourages the public, especially the sample households, to participate in the various censuses and surveys conducted by the PSA. The agency also assures that all collected personal information is processed in accordance with the law and other issuances.
