PSA Occidental Mindoro is Continuously Conducting the Data Collection of the 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (2024 POPCEN-CBMS)

The Philippine Statistics Authority – Occidental Mindoro is continuously conducting the data collection of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS across the province. Field personnel in the province of Occidental Mindoro are currently doing the house to house enumeration at far-flung areas despite the bad weather condition brought by typhoon Enteng from 02 – 06 September 2024.

In order to finish the enumeration on the target date, the Chief Statistical Specialist, Dr. Maribel L. Bernardo conducted an evaluation and encourage all data collectors to consider safety when conducting the data collection to get the socio-economic profile of the population of the province. The data from the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS will be beneficial to policy makers to update the population and housing data of all barangays nationwide and to ensure that the national government will have a comprehensive and updated plans and programs for everyone.

The PSA Occidental Mindoro are encouraging Mindoreños to take part in the field enumeration and grant an interview on the ongoing census of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS. The enumeration period is supposed to end on 15 September 2024 and may extend until October 2024 due to unexpected weather disturbances that prevent data collectors to reach some areas affected by the weather condition.
