28 January 2025 - CALAPAN CITY, ORIENTAL MINDORO. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Provincial Statistical Office of Oriental Mindoro will conduct the February 2025 round of the Labor Force Survey (LFS) on 08 to 28 February 2025. This survey operation is in accordance with the PSA Board Resolution No. 8 Series of 2020, Approval of the Conduct of the Monthly LFS and Generation of Monthly Labor and Employment Statistics.

Two Statistical Researchers (SRs) will be involved in the data collection using tablets, in adherence to the Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) approach.

The Monthly LFS is a nationwide survey conducted by the PSA to gather data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population. The results of the survey will provide high-frequency statistical information on the nation’s labor market and a better understanding of the current situation of employment and economy of the Philippines.

Utilizing the 2023 Geo-enabled Master Sample for household-based surveys of the PSA, this monthly LFS has a nationwide total sample of 10,836 households to ensure reliable estimates of the labor and employment indicators. In the Province of Oriental Mindoro, there are 96 sample households to be interviewed which are located in the City of Calapan and in the municipalities of Puerto Galera, Baco, Bansud, Pola, and Mansalay.

The PSA is committed to deliver relevant and reliable statistics. Hence, the agency encourages the public, especially the sample households, to participate in the various censuses and surveys conducted by the PSA. The agency also assures that all collected personal information are processed in accordance with the law and other issuances.
