22 April 2025 – SANTA CRUZ, MARINDUQUE. In its continuous effort to bring essential government services closer to the public, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Marinduque Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) participated in the Kumustahan Session for beneficiaries of the Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa Program (BP2P) under the Pag-abot Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), delivering National ID services directly to vulnerable sectors of the community.

On 22 April 2025, the session convened at the Barangay Session Hall of Brgy. Banahaw, Santa Cruz, Marinduque, as part of the DSWD’s initiatives to reach out and monitor the progress of beneficiaries under the BP2P, which is fully supported through the Pag-abot Program — a program that aims to provide immediate intervention, support, and sustainable reintegration for families and individuals in street situations and other vulnerable sectors.

During the activity, Information Officer I, Ms. Danica J. Gamara, conducted a comprehensive orientation on the National ID Program. Participants were briefed on the various National ID formats—including the physical National ID Card, the National ID in paper format also known as ePhilID, and the digital National ID—and how these tools serve as gateways to more efficient access to public services, financial institutions, and government support systems.

Additionally, Birth Registration Coordinator, Ms. Shiela Mae D. Matining, presented the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP)—a PSA initiative offering free and accessible birth registration to Filipinos without legal identity, especially in remote and underserved communities. She underscored its vital role in enabling individuals to qualify for a National ID and participate fully in programs for education, healthcare, and social protection.

This joint effort by PSA and DSWD demonstrates a shared commitment to inclusive development, ensuring that vulnerable sectors are not left behind in the pursuit of legal identity and access to vital government programs.
