23 February 2024 – ROMBLON, ROMBLON. As part of the celebration of the 34th Civil Registration Month with a theme “CRVS: The Future of Seamless Service”, the Philippine Statistics Authority - Romblon Statistical Office conducted series of Consultative Fora with the Municipal Organization of Senior Citizens in the province.

Engr. Johnny F. Solis, Chief Statistical Specialist of PSO Romblon, initiated the conduct of the said activity to promote the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP). It was noted that there were many senior citizens that were not able to benefit their social pensions, as reported by the organization, because of the absence of their birth certificates. Because of this, CSS Solis said, PSA would like to be of help to these senior citizens by enrolling them to be beneficiaries of the project and receive their PSA authenticated birth certificates.

PSA Romblon was able to conduct meeting with the municipal and barangay officers of the Senior Citizens and received warm welcome from the organization. They appreciated the efforts of the PSA and the Local Civil Registry Offices to be of help in their problem. The following are the series of meeting conducted relative to BRAP:

The annual observance of CRM is pursuant to Proclamation No. 682 “Declaring the Month of February of Every Year as Civil Registration Month” issued by then President Corazon C. Aquino dated January 28, 1991.
