ROMBLON, ROMBLON. Philippine Statistics Authority - Romblon Provincial Statistical Office conducts the February 2024 Monthly Fisheries Survey. RA 10625 authorizes the PSA to prepare and conduct periodic censuses on population, housing, agriculture, fisheries, business, industry, and other sectors of the economy. 

The monthly fisheries survey is one of the continuing surveys conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority. The survey aims to generate volume and value of production on commercial and marine municipal fisheries production by species and by quarter at the national, regional, and provincial levels. The statistics generated through the conduct of fisheries surveys serve as input to the compilation of national accounts, estimation of the performance of agriculture, research and studies, policy-making, and program implementation. 

Five (5) trained statistical researchers will conduct data collection for eligible respondents on February 1-29, 2024. In commercial fisheries three (3) landing centers from municipalities of Odiongan, San Agustin, and Romblon while in municipal fisheries fourteen (14) landing centers from municipalities of Romblon, Alcantara, Magdiwang, Cajidiocan, San Fernando, San Agustin, San Andres, Calatrava and Odiongan, Romblon were covered. 

All information collected by the hired Statistical Researchers from sample respondents shall be kept strictly confidential and shall not be used for purposes of taxation, investigation or regulation as provided under Article 55 of RA 10625. PSA Romblon encourages the public to support the PSA by actively participating in the various censuses and surveys being conducted.
