7 August 2024 - ROMBLON, ROMBLON. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) encourages parents and guardians to register children aged 1 to 4 years to the National ID system as it continues to open various registration venues to make registration easier and accessible for minors.

The call is in support to the statement of PSA Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General. "The benefits that the National ID brings to adults are equally applicable to children, who also have the right to a valid proof of identity. The PSA calls for parents and guardians to accompany their children to any registration center near them, and take the initiative in registering them to the National ID system."
The PSA is currently conducting mobile registration to various barangays in the province as part of its initiative to target children for National ID registration. Meanwhile, fixed registration center located at CRS Outlet in Odiongan, Romblon remain open for Romblomanons who wish to register to the National ID system, including children aged 1 to 4 years old. Requirement for registration includes PhilID or ePhilID of the parents and original or certified true copy of the birth certificate of the child.
As of 31 July 2024, a total of 250,896 Romblomanons have successfully registered to the National ID system where 213,842 have received their electronic PhilIDs.
