25 March 2024. ROMBLON, ROMBLON. As of February 29, 2024, the Philippine Statistics Authority- Romblon Provincial Statistical office has successfully registered a total of 242,107 Romblomanons or 86.40 percent of the target registrations aged five years old and above for the Philippine Identification System.

For the month of February 2024, a total of 1,554 Romblomanons were registered in the province which is equivalent to 49.73% of its target (3,125). Using five registration kits, PhilSys registration team was deployed to municipalities of Odiongan, San Fernando, Cajidiocan, Romblon and Santa Fe.

In efforts to fortify the implementation of PhilSys, PSA also conducted information dissemination campaigns during meetings and forums in various municipalities. Topics covered included the background of PhilSys, the benefits of being PhilSys-registered, and the steps involved in registering. The team also highlighted and lists of acceptable supporting documents that they may provide, along with the upcoming registration schedules.

To promote the PhilSys check for authenticity verification of Phil-IDs and ePhil-IDs, informational campaigns, leaflet distribution, and the installation of PhilSys stickers at various establishments and barangays in all municipalities in the province were continually carried out.

Also, in order to guarantee that all beneficiaries of 4Ps and BRAP can register with PhilSys, the PSA also brought ePhilID issuing and PhilSys registration services to FDS locations and BRAP mobile registrations.

Meanwhile, of the entire number of ePhilIDs issued to Romblomanons, 14.10%, or 29,672, were printed on request or by appointment, while the remaining 85.90%, or 180,718, were printed and given to the proper cardholders by PhilSys teams (Mode 2).

The Philippine Identification System Act, or Republic Act 11055, was signed into law in August 2018. It aims to establish a single national ID for all Filipinos and resident aliens, providing valid proof of identity for Filipino citizens and resident aliens of the Philippines.
