Religious Affiliation in Baco, Oriental Mindoro

Roman Catholic account for 77.7 percent of the household population

Of the 39,810-household population in 2020, 30,914 persons (77.7 percent) reported Roman Catholic as their religious affiliation. It was followed by Iglesia Ni Cristo with 1,712 persons or 4.3 percent, and Iglesia Evangelista Methodista en Las Islas Filipinas (IEMELIF) with 1,466 persons with 3.7 percent. Completing the top ten Religious Affiliations in 2020 in the municipality of Baco were Evangelical Christian Outreach Foundation with 2.7 percent, Evangelical Free Church of the Philippines with 2.4 percent, Jesus is Lord Church with 1.7 percent, Other Evangelical Churches with 0.9 percent, Seventh Day Adventist and Bible Baptist Church with 0.7 percent, each and Christian Missions in the Philippines with 0.3 percent.

Barangay Putican-Cabulo has the highest proportion of household population with Roman Catholic as religion

Of the 27 barangays in the municipality of Baco, Oriental Mindoro, Barangay Putican-Cabulo posted the highest proportion of Roman Catholics comprising 96.0 percent of the household population. It was followed by Barangay Dulangan I with 94.5 percent, Barangay Water with 94.3 percent, Barangay Pulang-Tubig with 94.0 percent, Barangay Catwiran I with 93.6 percent, Barangay Catwiran II with 93.0 percent, Barangay Santa Cruz with 91.2 percent, Barangay Alag with 90.9 percent, Barangay Santa Rosa I with 90.1 percent and Barangay Dulangan II with 89.6 percent respectively. Meanwhile, Barangay Bayanan recorded the least number of household population with Roman Catholic as religion with 1,518 or 22.0 percent. (Table 2 and Table 3)

Barangays with at least 90.0 percent of household population who reported Roman Catholic as their religion

Among the 27 barangays in the municipality of Baco Oriental Mindoro, there were nine barangays with at least 90.0 percent of household population reported Roman Catholic as their religious affiliation. These Barangays were Barangay Putican-Cabulo with 96.0 percent, Barangay Dulangan I with 94.5 percent, Barangay Water with 94.3 percent, Barangay Pulang Tubig with 94.0 percent, Barangay Catwiran I with 93.6 percent, Barangay Catwiran II with 93.0 percent, Barangay Santa Cruz with 91.2 percent, barangay Alag with 90.9 percent and Barangay Santa Rosa I with 90.1 percent respectively.

Barangay Pambisan has the highest proportion of household population with Iglesia ni Cristo as religion

Among the 27 barangays in the municipality of Baco, Oriental Mindoro, Barangay Pambisan posted the highest proportion of Iglesia ni Cristo with 33.2 percent as their religion. It was followed by Barangay Lumang Bayan with 11.4 percent, Barangay Tabon-tabon with 9.9 percent, Barangay Bangkatan with 9.6 percent and Barangay Poblacion with 8.2 percent. On the other hand, there were three Barangays (Burbuli, Baras, and Lantuyang) that registered zero household population with Iglesia ni Cristo as religion. (Table 5)

Barangays with Double-Digit Proportion of Household Population Who Reported Iglesia ni Cristo as Their Religious Affiliation

Among the 27 barangays in the municipality of Baco Oriental Mindoro there were two barangays with double-digit proportion of households population who reported Iglesia ni Cristo as their religious affiliation. First is Barangay Pambisan with 33.2 percent and Barangay Lumang Bayan with 11.4 percent, respectively.
