Date of release: August 06, 2024
Reference No. 2024PR-26

06 August 2024 - Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro. The Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) made notable progress in advancing inclusivity during the 2024 National Disability Rights Week, following an invitation from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) on July 22, 2024 with the theme: “Promoting Inclusion: Celebrating Abilities and Advocating Access”.

At the event, the PhilSys team successfully registered 45 persons with disabilities (PWDs) and issued 34 ePhilIDs, reflecting the commitment to ensuring that no Filipino is left behind in the national identification drive. This participation highlights PhilSys’s dedication to making the national ID system accessible to all citizens.

In addition to registration, PhilSys Focal Person, Mr. Christian A. Altarejos took the opportunity to engage with the public by providing valuable information about the digital national ID. He briefed attendees on the requirements for obtaining an ePhilID, outlined additional services offered by PhilSys, and addressed frequently asked questions, ensuring clarity and understanding among the attendees. strives to continue making PhilSys services available for Filipinos from all walks of life

“The PhilSys team of Occidental Mindoro will continue to strive to make PhilSys services available for Filipinos from all walks of life, so let’s work hand in hand to ensure that this goal becomes a reality for all of us,"  said Mr. Altarejos. This initiative reflects PhilSys's commitment not just to inclusivity but also to providing everyone with equitable access to all government services that are being limited due to the unavailability of valid identification.
