In a landmark effort to shape the future of the nation's workforce, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in collaboration with Philippines National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) is set to conduct two pivotal surveys in 2025 that will provide essential data for evidence-based policy-making. The nationwide May 2025 Labor Force Survey (LFS) will capture comprehensive information on household economic activities across the Philippines, serving as a cornerstone for developing policies and programs that address the evolving challenges of the labor market.
The inclusion of Volunteer Work Questions in the May 2025 LFS aims to generate reliable data on volunteer work in the labor force to reveal more clearly the potential economic impact of volunteer work in which it can be used by policy makers and program managers, both in the public and private sector, in crafting policies an guidelines that will provide citizens varied areas of opportunity for civic engagement, high levels of voluntary participation, and innovate volunteering infrastructure. This includes information on the kind of voluntary activities, the number of hours spent volunteering, the organizations involved, and other related factors.
Data collection for this survey is scheduled from May 8 to May 28, 2025 in ninety-six (96) sample households in Occidental Mindoro. The survey has been rigorously reviewed and cleared under the Statistical Survey Review and Clearance System (SSRCS) in accordance with Rule 28 of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act No. 10625, ensuring a robust design that minimizes respondent burden and streamlines data collection efforts across government agencies.
PSA Occidental Mindoro strongly encourages all sampled households and individuals to participate actively in the survey by providing accurate and truthful information. Every participant contributes to a data-driven evaluation of workforce skills and labor market demands, ultimately shaping a more resilient and dynamic future for the Philippine labor market.
