Religious Affiliation in Roxas, Oriental Mindoro

Roman Catholic account for 69.8 percent of the household population
Of the 58,815 household population in 2020, 41,033 persons or 69.8 percent reported Roman Catholic, Excluding Catholic Charismatic as their religious affiliation in the municipality of Roxas. It was followed by Church of the Foursquare Gospel in the Philippines, Incorporated with 3,282 persons or 5.6 percent, and Iglesia ni Cristo with 2,773 persons with 4.7 percent. Completing the top ten Religious Affiliations in 2020 in the municipality of Roxas were Seventh Day Adventist with 3.3 percent, Iglesia Filipina Independiente with 2.2 percent, Aglipay with 1.7 percent, Bible Baptist Church with 1.4 percent, Church of God World Missions in the Philippines and Church of Christ with 1.3 percent each and Assemblies of God with 0.9 percent. Barangay San Rafael with the highest proportion of household population that reported Roman Catholic as their religious affiliation
Of the 20 Barangays in the municipality of Roxas, Oriental Mindoro, Barangay San Rafael posted the highest proportion of Roman Catholics comprising 85.0 percent of the household population. Completing the top ten Barangay with the highest proportion of household population that reported as Roman Catholic as their religious affiliation were as Barangay Maraska with 83.5 percent, Barangay San Vicente with 80.7 percent, Barangay Paclasan with 78.7 percent, Barangay San Miguel with 78.2 percent, Barangay Libertad with 77.5 percent, Barangay San Mariano with 76.2 percent, Barangay Little Tanauan with 75.2 percent, Barangay San Isidro with 74.9 percent and Barangay Victoria with 71.6 percent. However, Barangay Bagumbayan reported as the least number of households population, out of 7,128 there was 3,541 persons or 49.7 percent with Roman Catholic as their religion. (Table 2 and Table 3)
Barangay Uyao has the highest proportion of household population with Church of the Foursquare Gospel in the Philippines, Incorporated as religion
The municipality of Roxas was able to register 3,282 persons (5.6 percent) who reported Church of the Foursquare Gospel in the Philippines, Incorporated as their religion. Of the twenty Barangays in the municipality of Roxas, Oriental Mindoro. Barangay Uyao posted the highest proportion of Foursquare Gospel in the Philippines, Incorporated with 19.7 percent as their religion. It was followed by Barangay Cantil with 13.9 percent, Barangay Little Tanauan with 13.8 percent, Barangay San Aquilino with 12.9 percent, and Barangay Libtong with 12.1 percent. On the other hand, Barangay Happy Valley reported as the least number of Church of the Foursquare Gospel in the Philippines, Incorporated as their religion with 0.5 percent. (Table 4)

Out of twenty Barangays, there were five Barangays with a double-digit proportion of household population who reported Church of the Foursquare Gospel in the Philippines, Incorporated as their religious affiliation in Roxas, Oriental Mindoro. Barangay Uyao reported the highest double-digit proportion of Foursquare Gospel in the Philippines, Incorporated with 19.7 percent as their religion. It was followed by Barangay Cantil with 13.9 percent, Barangay Little Tanauan with 13.8 percent, Barangay San Aquilino with 12.9 percent and Barangay Libtong with 12.1 percent. (Table 5)

Religious Affiliation in the Philippines

The population and housing censuses in the Philippines are conducted on a “de jure” basis, that is, a person is counted in the usual place of residence or the place where the person usually resides. The enumeration of the population and collection of pertinent data in the 2020 CPH referred to all living persons as of 01 May 2020.
For the 2020 CPH, data on the Religious Affiliation of all household members were collected by asking the respondents, “What is ____’s religious affiliation?”.
