Birth Statistics

In the 3rd Quarter of 2024, Romblon registered a total of 123 marriages, indicating a decrease of 50 births (28.9%) compared to the 173 marriages reported during the same period in 2023. Meanwhile, there was a decrease of 53.9 percent in the registered marriages in the third quarter of 2024 compared to the 267 marriages recorded in the second quarter of 2024. 

The month of July 2024 emerged as the month with the highest number of marriages in Romblon during the reference period, totaling 66. It was followed by September and August with  35 and 22 registered marriages, respectively (Table 1).

In the past 12 months, the month of December 2023 registered the most number of registered marriages with 169, while the least number occurred in August 2024 with 22.

Figure 3 shows the distribution of the number of marriages by municipality in the province of Romblon during the third quarter of 2024. The municipality of Odiongan topped with 26 registered marriages during the quarter or 21.1 percent of the total registered marriages in the province during the said quarter. It was followed by Romblon with 17 or 13.8 percent and San Agustin with 10 or 8.1 percent.

Meanwhile, municipality of Corcuera registered the least number of marriages with only 1, comprising about 0.8 percent of the total registered marriages in the province during the quarter.
