11 July 2025 – CAJIDIOCAN, ROMBLON. The Philippine Statistics Authority-Romblon Provincial Statistical Office successfully conducted the preliminary data presentation of the 2024 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) for the municipality of Cajidiocan on 10 July 2025 in the Session Hall, 2/F Municipal Bldg., Brgy. Poblacion, Cajidiocan, Romblon.

The event was attended by Hon. Kenyo Rabino, Vice-Mayor of Cajidiocan, together with department heads and representatives from various Local Government Unit (LGU) offices.

The activity aimed to present the preliminary findings of the CBMS data collection conducted in the municipality last 2024. The CBMS provides comprehensive, community-level data that are essential for local planning, poverty reduction, budgeting, disaster risk management, and targeting of social protection programs.

The program commenced with a welcome message from Hon. Vice Mayor Rabino, who emphasized the value of data-informed governance and expressed their gratitude to the PSA and local field personnel for their efforts in collecting accurate and timely information. He conveyed optimism that the CBMS results would serve as a valuable tool in identifying priority programs for the people of Cajidiocan.

Engr. Johnny F. Solis, PSA Romblon Chief Statistical Specialist presented the preliminary results covering various socio-economic indicators, such as household access to basic services such as water, electricity and sanitation, internet connectivity, and clean cooking fuels. These data were broken down by barangay, providing local leaders and stakeholders with a detailed view of their communities' current socio-economic conditions.

Following the presentation, an open forum was conducted, where participants from the local government, planning officers, and other departments were encouraged to ask questions, give feedback, and explore how the CBMS data can guide policy development and project prioritization. Many attendees noted the relevance of the findings, particularly in addressing poverty, improving access to education and healthcare, and enhancing infrastructure planning.

The presentation of the 2024 CBMS Preliminary Results marks a significant step toward data-driven governance in Cajidiocan, empowering local leaders with the information they need to improve the quality of life of every resident.

The Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS), established under Republic Act No. 11315 or the CBMS Act, is an organized, technology-based system for collecting, processing, and validating disaggregated data. This data serves as a vital tool for planning, program implementation, and impact monitoring at the local level, while also empowering communities to actively participate in the process.
