The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) of Marinduque is currently conducting the April 2024 Labor Force Survey (LFS), from April 8 to 30, 2024. The authority and mandate of the PSA to conduct the said project emanate from Republic Act (RA) No. 10625 or the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013, which authorizes the PSA to prepare and conduct periodic censuses on various sectors of the economy.

The LFS is a nationwide survey of households conducted by the PSA to gather data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population. It aims to measure the distribution of the household population aged 15 and over by employment status, determining various employment characteristics such as industry, class of worker, and nature of employment. The April 2024 LFS is part of the quarterly survey conducted between the regular monthly LFS. This round of LFS includes rider questions on tourism and unpaid work.

To carry out this survey effectively, PSA-Marinduque PSO hired six Statistical Researchers (SRs) to conduct personal interviews with 391 sample households from selected 24 barangays across the province using Computer-Aided Personal Interview (CAPI).

In accordance with this, the sample households are encouraged to participate in this nationwide undertaking by providing accurate and complete information.

Pursuant to Section 26 of RA 10625 (Confidentiality of Information) and Section 8 of  RA 10173 or the Data Privacy Act (Confidentiality), all data obtained herein shall be held strictly confidential and will not be used for taxation, investigation, or law enforcement purposes.
