The President of the Philippines declared the official count of the population through Proclamation No. 973 dated 11 July 2025, pursuant to Republic Act No. 10625, or the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013, and Executive Order No. 87, s. 2025. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) announced that based on the 2024 Census of Population (2024 POPCEN), the total population in Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro as of 01 July 2024 is 90,420.

The population figure of the said municipality shows the total number of persons living in the 37 barangays as of 12:01 AM on 01 July 2024. Of the 37 barangays, Barangay Papandayan recorded the largest population in 2024 in Pinamalayan with 7,010 individuals, followed by Barangay Marfrancisco with 6,114 individuals, Barangay Cacawan with 5,650 individuals, Barangay Wawa with 4,818 individuals, Barangay Pili with 4,177 individuals, Barangay Sta. Rita with 3,249, Barangay Zone I with 2,970, Barangay Sta. Isabel with 2,953, Barangay Sabang with 2,948 and Barangay Zone 2 with 2,863. The combined population of these ten barangays accounts for almost half (47.3percent) of the population of the municipality.
