The economy of Palawan grew by 1.5 percent in 2023 from its 2022 level, faster than the 1.4 percent growth in the previous year. This represents an increase in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from PhP 127.24 billion in 2022 to PhP 129.10 billion in 2023. (Figure 1)

 

Among the 16 industries, the fastest growths were observed in Accommodation and food service activities with 29.8 percent, followed by Other services with 15.4 percent, and Construction with 14.8 percent. On the other hand, the industries of Mining and quarrying, and Manufacturing, exhibited negative growth rates equivalent to 18.4 percent and 0.2 percent, respectively. (Figure 2)
