16 April 2025 - CALAPAN CITY, ORIENTAL MINDORO. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Oriental Mindoro will conduct the Quarterly Marine Municipal Fisheries Survey (QMFS) and Quarterly Commercial Fisheries Survey (QCFS) for the Second Quarter of 2025. Hired statistical researchers (SRs) will be involved in the weekly collection of data from April to June 2025.

The Quarterly Fisheries Survey aims to generate volume and value of fisheries production by species and quarter at the provincial, regional, and national levels. Aside from its input to the policy making and program implementation, the statistics will also provide an estimation of the performance of the agriculture sector in the province.

In Oriental Mindoro, the 12 sample Landing Centers for QMFS are in seven city/municipalities in the province. On the other hand, QCFS has four sample Landing Centers located in Bansud, Roxas, Mansalay, and Bulalacao. The 2021 Listing of Marine Fish Landing Center is the sampling frame being used for both surveys.

The Provincial Focal Person will supervise the hired SRs in the marine municipal and commercial landing centers to confirm that all operational concepts will be followed, thereby ensuring reliability and accuracy of collected data.

The PSA is committed to deliver relevant and reliable statistics. Hence, the agency encourages the public, especially the sample households, to participate in the various censuses and surveys conducted by the PSA. The agency also assures that all collected personal information is processed in accordance with the law and other issuances.
