PSA Oriental Mindoro Registers 707 thousand Mindoreños 
in PhilSys Step 2 Registration

 

 

The Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) Step 2 Registration of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Oriental Mindoro has successfully registered 707,690 Mindoreños or 87.0 percent of the 813,589 target 2020 Census of Population and Housing (CPH) population aged five years old and above, as of 30 December 2023.

Various initiatives were undertaken by Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) of PSA Oriental Mindoro, one of which is the re-launching of mobile registration center in the municipalities of Socorro, Mansalay, and Bulalacao on November 2023 and deployment of a registration personnel from the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bongabong to LGU Roxas. This aims to saturate and registered the Indigenous People (IPs) in the above-mentioned areas.

In addition, registration team from Calapan City went to far-flung areas in Sitio Tikiw, Barangay Burbuli in the Municipality of Baco to register indigenous students who were not yet registered during mobile registration in their barangay. A total 20 students were registered and 15 of them received the ePhilIDs.

In efforts to fortify the implementation of Philsys, PSA Oriental Mindoro also attended and conducted information dissemination campaigns during ABC meetings and caravans in various municipalities.
