25 March 2024. ROMBLON, ROMBLON. The Philippine Statistics Authority-Romblon Provincial Statistical Office and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-Romblon collaborated to provide the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) to Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries during Family Development Sessions (FDS).
As stated in the DSWD guidelines, FDS are monthly activities that beneficiaries should complete and attend as it is designed and expected to build and strengthen the capabilities of Pantawid families.
Last 28 February 2024, 4Ps beneficiaries have started undergoing identity verification through biometric authentication using the PhilSys Authentication Application to avail of the FDS equivalency in the province of Romblon.
4Ps recipients who have previously registered with PhilSys are required to provide their PhilID or ePhilID as part of the authentication process. In order to determine whether the person has a match in the PhilSys registry, a PSA employee will encode the PhilSys Card Number, or PCN, and scan their fingerprint using the PhilSys Authentication Application. After that, this will be recorded on an attendance form that the DSWD and PSA representatives will sign. The procedure makes it simple to confirm the beneficiary's identity and compliance with the FDS criteria.
In order to guarantee that all beneficiaries of 4Ps can register with PhilSys, the PSA also brought ePhilID issuing and PhilSys registration services to FDS locations.
PSA-Romblon now recorded successful authentications of 4Ps beneficiaries in the municipalities of San Fernando, Santa Fe and Romblon.
The Philippine Identification System Act, or Republic Act 11055, was signed into law in August 2018. It aims to establish a single national ID for all Filipinos and resident aliens, providing valid proof of identity for Filipino citizens and resident aliens of the Philippines.
