09 July 2025 – DUMARAN, PALAWAN. Second in Palawan, after the Municipality of Cagayancillo, the Provincial Statistical Office of Palawan presented the preliminary results for the Municipality of Dumaran on 09 July 2025 at LGU Dumaran Sub-Office, Bgy. Danleg, Dumaran, Palawan. This activity was done to validate the data collected from the municipality and to provide insights and understanding of the initial findings of the CBMS.

The participants from the LGU led by Executive Secretary Robert C. Herrera, representing Honorable Mayor Richard R. Herrera, were Officer-in-Charge of the Municipal Planning and Development Office and the Designated Data Protection Officer and Municipal Statistician Darwin H. Archedera, Municipal Budget Officer     Eva G. Llacuna, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer  Engr. Glendadin G. Cabildo, representatives from the Municipal Social Welfare and 
Development Office and Municipal Health Office Ms. Kazea May G. Abrew and Ms. Fe Remy Ann M. Paalan, respectively. PSO Palawan Statistical Specialists II Eric O. Odsinada and Marnito C. Andrada presented the preliminary statistics on some key indicators generated from the 2024 CBMS such as Access to Basic Drinking Water Services, Tenure Status of Housing Units, Food Insecurity Experience, Service Level of Toilet Facility, Handwashing Facility, Access to Basic Electricity, Financial Accounts, Housing Characteristics, Peace and Order, and Access to Internet.

PSA Palawan also discussed the requirements to be complied by the LGU for the 2024 CBMS Data Turnover and the upcoming activities of the PSA.

OIC Archedera expressed the LGU’s excitement to receive the 2024 CBMS Data as this will be their primary basis to evidence-based planning, policy formulation, program implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of activities in their municipality.

CBMS is an organized technology-based system of collecting, processing, and validating necessary disaggregated data that may be used for local planning, program implementation, and impact monitoring while empowering communities to participate in the process. It involves generation of data at the local level which serves as a basis in targeting households for government programs geared towards poverty alleviation and economic development.
