
20 May 2025 - CALAPAN CITY, ORIENTAL MINDORO. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Provincial Statistical Office of Oriental Mindoro successfully registered 810,170 Mindoreños equivalent to 89.19 percent of the 908,339 target 2020 Census of Population and Housing (CPH) population zero-year-old and above, as of 17 May 2025.
Various initiatives were undertaken by Provincial Statistical Office, one of which is the partnership with the Department of Social Worker and Development the social protection beneficiaries undergo registration and authentication services to secure identity verification. Another initiative is the re-launching of mobile registration centers in the municipalities of Naujan, Pinamalayan, Bansud, and Roxas on 15 May 2025 and deployment of a registration personnel from the Local Government Units of Mansalay and Bongabong. This aims to register individuals as one of the requirements for the delayed registration of birth.
In addition, the registration team of Baco went to far-flung areas in Sitio Ariguy, Barangay Calangatan of San Teodoro to register indigenous students who were not yet registered during mobile registration in their barangay. A total of 43 students were registered and 36 of them received the National ID in paper form.
In efforts to fortify the implementation of the National ID System, PSA PSO Oriental Mindoro also attended and conducted information dissemination campaigns during Association of Barangay Captains meetings and caravans in various municipalities.
