PSA Conducts April 2024 Labor Force Survey (LFS)

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Oriental Mindoro conducted the April 2024 round of the Labor Force Survey (LFS) on April 8 to 28, 2024 in accordance with the PSA Board Resolution No. 8 Series of 2020, Approval of the Conduct of the Monthly LFS and Generation of Monthly Labor and Employment Statistics.

The Labor Force Survey (LFS) is a nationwide survey of households conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) to gather data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population.

Utilizing the 2023 Geo-Enabled Master Sample (2023 GeoMS), the said survey had a nationwide total sample of 43,344 households to ensure reliable estimates of the labor and employment indicators. In the Province of Oriental Mindoro, 392 sample households located in the municipalities of Puerto Galera, Baco, Calapan City, Naujan, Victoria, Pola, Pinamalayan, Gloria, Bansud, Bongabong, Roxas, Mansalay, and Bulalacao were interviewed.

Six (6) Statistical Researchers (SRs) were involved in the conduct of the data collection, and had undergone a four-day training to ensure consistency of concepts and operational procedures. Tablets were used as a medium of data collection, in adherence to the Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) approach.

The PSA is committed to deliver relevant and reliable statistics. Hence, the agency encourages the public, especially the sample households, to participate in the various censuses and surveys conducted by the PSA. The agency also assures that all collected personal information are processed in accordance with the law and other issuances.
