14 February 2025 — Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Occidental Mindoro and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) have launched a collaborative effort to ensure the seamless registration of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries under the National ID System in Occidental Mindoro. The partnership, aimed at strengthening the government's database, is a vital step in ensuring that every eligible Filipino continues to receive essential government services.

The pivotal meeting was held last 13 February 2025  at the PSA Occidental Mindoro office, where Ms. Cristina M. Galero, Social Welfare Officer III of DSWD, met with key personnel from PSA Occidental Mindoro, including the Chief Statistical Specialist, Maribel L. Bernardo, PhD. The event marked a significant milestone in the planning and coordination for the deployment of the Registration Team tasked with registering 4Ps beneficiaries under the National ID System.

Also in attendance were Ms. Esperanza S. Hambali, Registration Officer II of PSA Occidental Mindoro; Mr. Christian A. Altarejos, National ID Focal Person; and Mr. Glen Jefferson A. Ileto, Information System Analyst I of the National Identification System. Together, they engaged in a comprehensive discussion on the technical and logistical aspects of the registration process, as well as strategies for improving outreach and efficiency.

The National ID System initiative is an important government program aimed at streamlining the delivery of public services and strengthening the identification system in the Philippines. As part of the continuous deployment plan, the PSA and DSWD are committed to ensuring that all 4Ps beneficiaries are properly registered for the National ID. The project aligns with the government’s broader goal of improving access to social services for Filipino families.

CSS Bernardo, highlighted the importance of this collaboration, noting that the National ID will facilitate smoother transactions with government agencies, enhance security, and ensure the prompt delivery of aid to those who need it most. By having the 4Ps beneficiaries registered under the National ID system, the government can guarantee that individuals will continue receiving crucial services and benefits without interruption.

The 4Ps program, which provides cash assistance to eligible low-income families, is an essential part of the government’s poverty reduction strategy. With the registration under the National ID system, the implementation of this program will be more efficient, and the benefits will reach the right individuals in a timely manner.

Both agencies affirmed their commitment to ensuring the successful completion of the 4Ps registration and to continuing efforts for nationwide integration into the National ID System. The meeting marks the beginning of a series of planned deployments in Occidental Mindoro and beyond, aiming for broader reach and inclusion of Filipino citizens in the National ID Program.
This collaboration signifies a united effort towards improving the welfare of Filipino families and ensuring that no one is left behind in the government's commitment to service.
