13 February 2025 – New Dagupan, Calintaan, Occidental Mindoro.  In line with the celebration of the 35th Civil Registration Month with the theme "Building a Resilient, Agile, and Future-Fit Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System," the Local Civil Registry Office of Calintaan successfully organized a Caravan aimed at providing essential civil registration services to residents. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Occidental Mindoro played a key role in this event, offering National Identification System services and contributing to the Birth Registration Assistance Project.

The Caravan, held on 13 February 2025 at New Dagupan Covered Court, Calintaan, Occidental Mindoro, brought together various government agencies and services to ensure that residents of Calintaan, particularly those who have not yet registered for vital civil documents, had the opportunity to access crucial services. Recognizing the importance of the National ID System as a foundation for streamlined government services, the Local Civil Registry Office of Calintaan reached out to the PSA Occidental Mindoro to assist in the event and offer registration for the National ID System.

The PSA team, headed by Maribel L. Bernardo, PhD Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA Occidental Mindoro, responded enthusiastically with a dedicated team that successfully registered 70 individuals into the National Identification System. This important initiative aims to ensure that every Filipino, including those in remote and undeserved areas, has access to a valid and official identification, helping them access various government services such as health, education, and financial aid programs.

The collaboration between PSA Occidental Mindoro and the Local Civil Registry Office of Calintaan highlights the importance of government agencies working together to provide efficient services for the Filipino people. Through this caravan, the National ID registration service was made more accessible, especially for individuals who may have faced barriers to traditional registration processes.

In addition to the National ID registration, the Birth Registration Assistance Project also provided mobile registration services for children and other individuals who needed to register their births. This is part of the ongoing efforts by the government to ensure that every Filipino is properly documented and included in national databases, allowing them to enjoy the benefits and rights granted by their citizenship.

The Caravan was a significant milestone in Calintaan's efforts to celebrate Civil Registration Month, demonstrating the local government’s commitment to improving access to civil registration services. With over 70 new registrants for the National ID system, the event proved to be a success in enhancing public service delivery and strengthening the foundations of a more inclusive, future-ready civil registration system in Occidental Mindoro.

Both the PSA and the Local Civil Registry Office of Calintaan expressed their continued commitment to making services like these more accessible, especially in rural and remote communities. More caravans and registration drives are expected to take place throughout the year, ensuring that no one is left behind in the registration process.
