The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)- Romblon Provincial Statistical Office successfully conducted a hybrid consultative meeting with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on 28 January 2025 at 2/F Kadbayan MPC Bldg., PSA Romblon-District Office, Brgy. Dapawan, Odiongan, Romblon, to plan strategies for the National ID registration and authentication of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries.
On-site participants included Social Welfare Officer III (SWO III) Ms. Geneva F. Zacarias, Project Development Officers II (PDOs II) Ms. Ma. Jemelyn F. Avena, Ms. Mailyn R. Manzano, Ms. Jovelyn J. Fornes, and Elaine G. Fontabla, while Municipal Links (MLs) took part online.
Registration Officer I Engr. Mariel V. Fallarcuna, provided information about PhilSys workload, mobile registration and 4Ps authentication schedules. She emphasized the upcoming activities for National ID registrations across different barangays. These efforts aim to reach 4Ps beneficiaries and other residents to ensure that everyone has access to the National ID system.
Then, Chief Statistical Specialist Engr. Johnny F. Solis presented innovative approaches to the upcoming PhilSys mobile registration and 4Ps authentication processes. The discussions focused on mobilizing resources and streamlining efforts to ensure that the remaining 4Ps recipients register and authenticate in the National ID system. This partnership aims to ensure that 4Ps beneficiaries are registered and provided with valid proof of identity through the National ID, which will help streamline access to government services and benefits for the beneficiaries, aligning with efforts to improve social protection programs across the country.
Further, BRAP— a program that offers free birth registration — was included in the discussion by CSS Solis. Launched in 2022, one of PSA's key initiatives is the Birth Registration Assistance Project (BRAP). Enhancing civil registration rates is the program's main goal, especially for marginalized communities including Muslim Filipinos, Indigenous Peoples, and the poorest sectors society. By facilitating the issuance of PhilIDs, the project helps individuals secure their legal identities and access social benefits.
Moreover, issues and queries were catered during an open forum and informative leaflets on PhilSys were distributed to the participants.
As PSA-Romblon continues its National ID registration efforts across the province, the office is committed to expand outreach efforts to ensure that the registration process remains accessible to everyone so that every Filipino can enjoy the benefits of the program.
