04 November 2024- The Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistical Service Office MIMAROPA (PSA RSSO MIMAROPA) reports that, as of 31 October 2024, a total of 2.7 million in MIMAROPA have completed their Step 2 Registration for the National ID. These registrants had their demographic information validated and biometric data collected across registration centers and through mobile registration initiatives, which began in January 2021.

Among the provinces, Palawan has the highest cumulative number of registrants, with 1,056,021 residents completing Step 2. Oriental Mindoro follows with 772,261 registrants, while Occidental Mindoro accounts for 451,059 registrants.

PSA RSSO MIMAROPA continues to intensify its efforts to bring National ID Step 2 Registration closer to the people. This is achieved through strong partnerships with Local Government Units (LGUs) and institutional establishments. The Provincial Statistical Offices are also actively coordinating with barangays, reaching out to indigenous communities, schools, and remote areas to locate and register more MIMAROPA residents who have yet to complete Step 2.
