03 March 2025- BULALACAO, ORIENTAL MINDORO. In a significant move towards inclusivity and accessibility, the government has launched an initiative to facilitate the National ID registration process for persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Oriental Mindoro. This initiative aims to ensure that all eligible citizens, regardless of their physical condition, have equal access to vital government services through the National Identification System.
The National ID registration drive for PWDs has been designed to provide a unified, supportive, and accommodating process. PSA- Based Registration, mobile registration teams, and trained personnel are deployed to ensure that persons with disabilities can register with minimal inconvenience. Assistance for those with mobility, visual, or hearing impairments is also available at designated registration sites.
“We recognize the unique challenges faced by persons with disabilities, and this initiative is a step forward in breaking down barriers to essential services. By ensuring that every individual, regardless of disability, has access to the National ID, we are promoting inclusivity and enhancing their participation in society,” said OIC Charlyn Romero-Cantos, Chief Administrative Officer - Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) Oriental Mindoro.
The National ID serves as a primary identification card for all citizens, offering greater access to social welfare programs, healthcare, financial services, and other government services.
